The LIFE TURBINES project, spearheaded by Aigües de Tortosa, was prominently featured at the 78th edition of Expoebre, held from May 1 to 5, 2024. This annual multisectoral fair, a cornerstone event in the Terres de l’Ebre region, emphasized the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and showcased advancements in technology, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
Within the ‘Ebreambient’ pavilion, dedicated to environmental and sustainability initiatives, Aigües de Tortosa presented the LIFE TURBINES project. Our innovative endeavor focuses on harnessing excess pressure in urban water distribution systems to generate renewable energy, thereby contributing to the decarbonization of municipal water cycles. Attendees had the opportunity to explore interactive displays and gain insights into how the project integrates microturbines into existing infrastructure without compromising water quality or supply.
Expoebre 2024 attracted over 200 exhibitors and thousands of visitors, offering a platform for businesses, public institutions, and the general public to engage with cutting-edge solutions aligned with the SDGs. The fair featured thematic areas such as Ebretech, focusing on technology and robotics, and Taste & Fashion, highlighting local gastronomy and culture.
The participation of the LIFE TURBINES project underscored the commitment of Aigües de Tortosa and the broader consortium to sustainable innovation and environmental responsibility. Their presence at Expoebre 2024 not only raised awareness about renewable energy solutions in water management but also fostered community engagement and knowledge sharing.
