LIFE TURBINES showcases renewable energy innovation at 37th AEAS Congress in Castellón

The LIFE TURBINES project was prominently featured at the 37th Congress of the Spanish Water Supply and Sanitation Association (AEAS), held from June 5 to 7, 2024, at the Auditorium and Congress Palace of Castellón. As Spain’s premier forum for urban water cycle professionals, the AEAS Congress brought together experts, companies, and institutions to discuss advancements in water management. The event included technical sessions, parallel presentations, and the Water Technology Showroom, where leading organizations showcased their latest innovations.

Partners EMIVASA represented the LIFE TURBINES consortium with a presentation of their groundbreaking work on integrating microturbines into urban water distribution systems. This technology harnesses excess pressure to generate renewable energy, contributing to the decarbonization of municipal water cycles without compromising water quality or supply.

The presentation highlighted the project’s objectives, progress, and potential for replication across European cities. Attendees engaged in discussions about the role of digital technologies in optimizing water management and energy recovery processes.
