Empowering communities through renewable energy: LIFE TURBINES workshop in Montserrat

On October 1, 2024, the LIFE TURBINES project, in collaboration with AeioLuz, hosted an engaging workshop in Montserrat, Valencia, focusing on renewable energy and community empowerment.

The workshop introduced participants to Local Energy Communities (Comunidades Energéticas Locales – CELs), highlighting their role in promoting collaborative renewable energy solutions. Attendees explored successful CEL examples and engaged in discussions about building connections with neighboring communities to foster sustainable energy practices.

A key highlight of the session was the presentation on the LIFE TURBINES project, demonstrating how excess water pressure in urban pipelines can be harnessed to generate clean electricity efficiently. This innovative approach sparked significant interest among participants, showcasing the potential of integrating renewable energy technologies into existing water infrastructure.

The event underscored the importance of community involvement in the transition towards sustainable energy systems and the role of innovative projects like LIFE TURBINES in driving environmental change.
