From community-owned energy and energy efficiency to electricity bills and water saving, each session combined practical learning with a clear message: the energy transition becomes stronger when people understand it, take part in it and help shape it.

The series began on the 4th March at CEL Catarroja Renovable, where AeioLuz hosted a cineforum around the documentary “We the Power: The Future of Energy is Community-Owned”, which sparked sparked a discussion on the role of citizen-led energy projects and cooperative models in Europe, reinforcing the importance of community participation in building a fairer and more democratic energy system.

The following day, 5th March, the Montserrat Energy Community gathered for a workshop on energy rehabilitation. The session explored ways to reduce building consumption beyond basic efficiency measures, including the use of renewable energy sources such as the hydropower solutions promoted by LIFE TURBINES. This meeting helped connect the project’s technology with practical questions about how communities can lower their energy use and improve sustainability at local level.

On 12th March, AeioLuz brought the conversation to the Centro Asturiano in Valencia with a workshop on electricity bills and LIFE TURBINES. Participants learned how to interpret their bills, identify consumption patterns and make better choices when contracting electricity services. The session also introduced LIFE TURBINES as an example of how innovative technologies can help reduce generation costs, support cleaner electricity and contribute to a more responsible energy future.

The final workshop took place on 25th March at CEIP Bertomeu Llorenç in Catarroja, where the focus shifted to billing, efficiency and water use. Aimed at the local community linked to the energy collective, the session highlighted the relationship between water consumption, infrastructure and energy use. LIFE TURBINES was presented as a practical example of how water systems can also contribute to sustainability, while the discussion underlined the importance of avoiding leaks and using water more efficiently at home and in industry.

Together, these workshops reflect the broader mission of LIFE TURBINES, to combine technological innovation with social engagement, helping citizens understand how energy and water systems work and how they can become part of the solution. By creating spaces for dialogue, learning and participation, AeioLuz continues to strengthen the project’s connection with the communities it aims to serve.

Throughout March 2026, AeioLuz continued its outreach work for the LIFE TURBINES project with a series of educational workshops designed to bring energy transition topics closer to local communities, energy groups and citizens in Valencia province.
