LIFE TURBINES Holds General Assembly Coordination Committee at ITE Headquarters

The LIFE TURBINES consortium convened its General Assembly Coordination Committee at the headquarters of Instituto Tecnológico de la Energía (ITE) on 13th March to review project progress, agree next steps and strengthen technical cooperation among partners.

The meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners to assess advances across the project’s work packages, review pilot performance data, discuss dissemination and replication strategies, and plan remaining activities as the project moves toward its next phase. Technical sessions focused on pilot validation, monitoring methodologies, impact assessment and stakeholder engagement pathways.

Following the coordination meetings, partners were given a tour of ITE’s laboratories and demonstration facilities, gaining firsthand insight into the institute’s testing capabilities and how these can support the remaining validation and scale-up tasks of LIFE TURBINES. The visit fostered technical dialogue on instrumentation, data collection and the integration of monitoring systems that will support replication in other urban contexts.

Overall, the General Assembly Coordination Committee reinforced the consortium’s commitment to demonstrating how hydropower can recover energy from urban drinking-water networks safely and reliably, delivering measurable environmental and social benefits for cities across Europe
