LIFE TURBINES Showcased at EWRA 2025 in Palermo

Members from LIFE TURBINES project coordinator Global Omnium proudly took part in the 13th World Congress on Water Resources and Environment (EWRA 2025), hosted by the European Water Resources Association at the University of Palermo’s Department of Engineering.

The congress gathered leading experts, institutions, and innovators from across Europe to exchange knowledge on building a more sustainable and efficient water future. Within this framework, LIFE TURBINES was presented as a pioneering initiative harnessing excess pressure in urban drinking water networks to generate renewable energy. The session highlighted the project’s practical impact and lessons learned from pilot sites, reinforcing the potential of micro-hydropower solutions for cities.

Participation in EWRA 2025 allowed LIFE TURBINES to strengthen its network, share scientific insights, and continue advancing the integration of clean energy technologies into urban water infrastructure. The project continues to drive innovation through knowledge exchange, collaboration, and a strong commitment to climate goals.
